Information design — mapping the same data in multiple ways
Designer Lauren Manning set out to design the ‘perfect infographic’, by mapping out the same information (meals eaten in 2020) in over 40 different ways.
Unfortunately aesthetics/design is very subjective. Apparently there were a wide range of different responses to each infographic Manning had created.
This is a problem I have quite often — how do I know which style of infographic/map will be the most appropriate for the data!? It tends to differ depending not only on the data, but on the audience, the medium, the format etc…
